Undergoing fertility treatment can be a complicated and stressful process. Unfortunately, some women endure the added stress of worrying about the safety and stability of their job and career.
Fertility treatments require medical accommodations, and many women worry that the accommodations they request may result in retaliatory conduct from their employers.
However, the fertility treatment process is protected as a medical condition. It is illegal for employers to fire, harass, discharge, or otherwise discriminate against workers for pregnancy, childbirth, or a related condition. As a related condition to pregnancy, fertility treatments are protected under the law.
